

LeBlanc, Annie Loretta (nee LeBlanc) - 97, Margaree Forks, Cape Breton, went home to God and to loved ones on January 06, 2011. Born in Margaree, on Oct. 20, 1913, she was a daughter of the Late Paul D. LeBlanc, and Late Donathilde (Chaisson) LeBlanc of Margaree.She is survived by her sister, Beatrice Tompkins, Inverary Manor; many neices, nephews ; as well as grand neices and grand nephews.She was predeceased by her husband, Second World War veteran Thomas A. LeBlanc in 2004; brothers, Ambrose (Marguerite) LeBlanc, (Margaree); John D. (Victoria) LeBlanc, (Waltham); sisters, Delina (George) Anderer, (Waltham); Bertha (Armand) Plouffe, (Waltham); and siblings who died in infancy, brother, Albert, and sisters, Beatrice and Flora. As a young woman, she moved to Waltham where she worked for many years before returning to her Beloved Margaree.She was a member of St. Michael's Parish, Margaree; a charter member of its C.W.L., and, following family tradition, served as chuch organist for 12 years. She was very active in church and community life, a willing and reliable volunteer for any and all worthwhile causes.She had a youthfulness and “joie de vivre” that belied her chronological age. She was an advocate for her own independence and remained mentally and physically very active until shortly before her death. Family and Friends were the guiding posts of her life and she walked boldly forward in faith at all times.Cremation has taken place and a funeral mass with interment in St. Michael's Parish Cemetery will take place on Tuesday, Jan. 11 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Vincent Van Zutphen officiating.
