

It is with sadness that the MacDonell family announces the passing of their sister, Cassie Taylor, with her sisters at her side, in Inverness Consolidated Hospital, Inverness, on March 8,2012.
Born in Glengarry, Mabou on October 4, 1923, to John Andrew (1959) and Mary Cassie(1953) MacDonell, she was the seventh child of a family of 17. She spent the greater part of her life away: working in Halifax ,Montreal, Hamilton, Ont., Grosse Pointe, Mich. and Windsor, Ont.
In July of 2007, she returned to Cape Breton. Cassie will be lovingly remembered by her sisters, Janet MacMillan, Port Hood; NS; Rita McClinchey, Dearborn, Mich; Colena MacMillan, Mabou; Annie Mac Lellan, Mabou; sister-in-law, Betty MacDonnell, Niagara Falls, Ont.; brothers, Angus (Edriz), Burnaby, B.C.; Alex Duncan (Frances), Mabou; Rod (Rita), Niagara Falls, Ont.; Lawrence (Charlotte), Edmonton, Alta.; numerous nieces and nephews, relatives and friends. Cassie was predeceased by her husband, John Edward Taylor in 1974; sister, Margie (Donald) MacDonald (1955) and brothers, Jerome (1974), Alexander (1979), Malcolm (1988), John Francis (1988), Collie (2002), John A. (2004) and Donald (2004).
Visitation will be in the vestry of St. Mary's Church, Mabou on Sunday, March 11 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday in St. Mary's Church, Mabou at 11 a.m. with Fr. Angus Morris as celebrant. The Interment will take place at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to St. Mary's Parish Cemetery Fund, Mabou or to Central Inverness Palliative Care Society.
