Catherine Isabelle MacArthur

We are heartbroken to announce the loss of our rock & our hero. Catherine Isabel MacArthur ( MacDonald). On March 20, 2016. She was predeceased by her parents, Alex joe & Elizabeth (Shibby) MacDonald; brother, Gerry and sister, Anita.

She is survived by her children, Lynn, Paul (Shannon), Beth(Kerr), Bruce(Kumiko), and Jill(Kevin); her brothers, Wally (Elaine) and Arthur(Charlotte);sister, Marguerite(Lorne); and sister- in- law Lorraine. Nannie was adored by her grandchildren, Catherine, Kolton & Malcolm, Bella & Willie, Reina, Yuna & Kouta, and Branden. She will also be missed dearly by her many nieces, nephews and friends.

Mom was a shining example to us all. She gave selflessly as a mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, nurse and friend. Her countless acts of kindness will be remembered by many. She loved to knit, bake and the "fudge fairy" was known to provide many a "fix" for her loyal addicts.

She was an avid Leafs, Blue Jays and curling fan, however, her loudest cheers were saved for her children and grandchildren.

We would like to thank Dr. Jensen, Dr. MacCormack, Dr. Saliba, Dr. Ritter and Dr. MacLaughlin for their excellent care. A special thank you to the oncology department and the nursing staff. A very special and heart-filled thank you to Mom's earth angel, Lori Anne. You went above and beyond.

Cremation has taken place. Wake 3-9 on Sunday, March 27 in Inverness Funeral Home,with funeral mass to be held on Monday, March 28 at 11:00 am. in Stella Maris Church, Inverness with Fr. Duncan MacIsaac officiating. Burial at a later date.
