Colleen Varnier

IT is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Colleen Varnier age-62 on Sunday October 23, 2011, with family and friends by her side in Inverness Consolidated Memorial Hospital. Born in Inverness on November 17, 1948 she was the daughter of the late Louis Vital and Mary Maggie (Smith) Varnier. She was a member of Stella Maris Church, Inverness and was well known in the food industry. Colleen enjoyed a good game of cards as well as camping at MacKinnon’s Campground. She also enjoyed the comfort of Inverness Beach, her pet friends, enjoyed a good laugh and will be missed by all who came to know her. She is survived by sister Elaine (Mark) Harper, Inverness; nephews, Terrance Harper, Inverness, Sean Truswell, Sackville; grand nephew Tristan Truswell, Sackville. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held on Friday October 28, 2011 in Stella Maris Church, Inverness from 10-10:45 am with Funeral mass to follow at 11 am, Fr. Duncan MacIsaac officiating, burial to follow in the parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Stella Maris Parish Cemetery Fund, Inverness or to Central Inverness Palliative Care society.
