Effie Isabel MacLellan

MacLellan, Effie Isabel Age, 91. It is with deepest sympathy that we announce the passing of our dearest Aunt Effie in Inverary Manor on Sunday, April 2,2017 with family by her side. Effie was born on February 2, 1926 and was a daughter of the late John A and Florence(MacLellan) MacLellan. She was the last surviving member of her family and was a member of Stella Maris Church, Inverness. Effie worked for 38 years in St. Mary and Inverness Consolidated Memorial Hospital as a Supervisor. Effie enjoyed the simple pleasures of life such as gardening, bingo, Ceildish's, pets, music, walks and her favorite team Toronto Maple Leaf's and visiting with family and friends. Effie will be sorry missed by all who came to know her. She was predeceased by her brother, Alex MacLellan; sisters, Annie May Bourgeois, Margaret Burke, Marjorie Odo and Catherine Poirier. She is survived by, her nieces, Florence Burke, Marilyn MacLean, Sadie Rankin, Janice MacKay, Hazel MacLellan, Michelle Hubbard, Marlene Odo and Francene Bourgeois; nephews, John Poirier, Al Poirier, Dougie Odo and John Burke. Visitation will be held on Thursday April 6 in Inverness Funeral Home from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. in Stella Maris Church, Inverness with Fr. Duncan MacIsaac officiating. Burial in the parish cemetery at a later date. Family flowers only please.
