Georgina Marie MacDonald

MACDONALD Georgina Marie, Age 71, Inverness, passed away ‎peacefully in the Inverness Consolidated Memorial Hospital surrounded by her family on August 11, 2016. Georgina was born on July 10, 1945 in Inverness where she was a lifelong resident and member of the Stella Maris Parish. Always a hard worker, she cared for her family both immediate and extended. Her love for animals was evident as they were a staple in the family home. She loved good food and socializing with family and friends. She had a wonderful sense of humor and her fun loving nature always uplifted the spirits of those around her. Georgina’s compassion for others shone through in the love of the children she cared for over the years.

Georgina is survived by her sisters, Kay MacIsaac, Lizzie (Ronald) MacDonnell, Mary MacPhee, Donelda (Richard) Gillis; many nieces and nephews, grand nieces and nephews, and many beloved cousins, most of whom live in or near Inverness and brought great joy to her later years.

Georgina was predeceased by her husband, Daniel H. MacDonald; siblings, John Joe MacIsaac, Annie Margaret MacLellan, Johnny (Bun) MacIsaac, Allan MacIsaac, John(Horn) MacIsaac, Mary Lizzie MacDonnell and Jim MacIsaac and brother- in- law, Alex MacPhee.

The family would like to thank Dr. Egar and the staff of Inverness Consolidated Memorial Hospital for their unwavering love, support and exceptional care during her extended stay in your facility.Cremation has taken place.

Visitation will be held on Monday, Aug 15 from 10 – 10:45am with funeral mass to follow at 11am in Stella Maris Parish Church,Inverness with Duncan MacIsaac officiating. Burial to follow in parish cemetery.
