Mrs. Krista Anne MacQuarrie Ward

WARD (MacQuarrie), Krista Anne Age 26, It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the death of Krista Anne (MacQuarrie) Ward on July 13th, 2014, in Inverness Consolidated Memmorial Hospital, after a short but brave battle with cancer. Born in Inverness on February 20, 1988, she was the daughter of Betty Ann (MacNeil) and the late John Alexander “Sander” MacQuarrie of Mabou. Krista was happy, and friendly, with a beautiful smile. Krista loved going to the beach and spending time with her family and friends. She loved music and sports and never missed the opportunity to cheer for her nephews, Neil, Colin, and Tyler. Krista is survived and will be forever loved by her husband, David Ward; mother, Betty Ann; brothers, Kyle (Cheryl), Aaron (Jennifer) and Calum (Nicole); grandfather, Stanley MacNeil; nephews, Neil, Colin, Iain, Tyler, Isaiah and nieces Kiana and Ann.

Krista graduated from Dalhousie University in 2012, and worked as a respiratory therapist at the QEII Health Sciences Center in Halifax and will be missed by her work family. With love and grace Krista and David overcame her illness by getting married on July 4, 2014. David was the love of her life. Visitation will be held in the Vestry of St. Mary’s Church, Mabou on Wednesday July 16, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and Thursday from 12-1:45 p.m. Funeral Mass to follow in St. Mary’s Church, Mabou at 2 p.m. with Fr. Angus Morris officiating. Burial in the parish cemetery at a later date.
