Lorraine Miller McKinnon, age 93, of Margaree Forks, passed away quietly on January 4th at her home. She was born in Marenisco, Michigan, the daughter of John Simpson Miller and Myrtle (Hollander) Miller. She was Technical Sergeant and Field Director of the U.S. Marine Corps Women's Band during WW II, where she met and married her husband, Robert Allen McKinnon (deceased September 21, 1961.)
She is survived by her three daughters, Diana K. McKinnon, Barbara McKinnon Tognacci and Mary L. McKinnon, and by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and an extended and well-loved family of nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held at the Wilson United Church Parish Hall in Margaree Centre on Sunday, January 11th from 2-4 P.M. Funeral service will be held in Wilson United Church on Monday, January 12th at 11 a.m. with Rev Norma Mills celebrating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Big Intervale United Church, Margaree Valley.
