

Mary Florence (MacIsaac) Beaton passed away on Monday, August 5, 2013, in Inverness Consolidated Memorial Hospital, peacefully into God`s waiting arms, surrounded by her loving family. Born on June 22nd, 1934, in Saint Ninian, Inverness County.; Mary Florence was a daughter of the late Willie A and Mina (MacDonald) MacIsaac. Mary Florence was an upstanding member of St. Peter`s Parish Church, Port Hood. She was a woman of strong faith and spent most of her life devoted to the workings of the Parish, where she presided as President of the CWL for several years, in addition to various other roles. She also dedicated her kind and giving ways to various other charities and organizations in her community including the Red Cross, the Canadian Cancer Society-Nova Scotia Division where she was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award for her outstanding and consistent commitment. Mary Florence dedicated a large portion of her life to helping others and visiting the sick and shut-ins.
She is survived by her children, John Willie (Kim) and son, Johnathan, Coxheath; Caddy (Harold) Pond and sons, Adam and Cory; Donald Francis (Margie) and sons, Tristan and Leander; Louise (Greg) MacInnis, and children, Jenna and Duncan, all of Port Hood; Anita (Danny) Gillis and daughters, Tanya, Erica and Kimberly, Judique; Marcella (Brian) Ingraham and children, Brian, Kaitlyn and Emma, PortHood; Colina (Paul) Galan and children, Noah, Gracie, Matthew and Sarah, Brampton, Ont.; Anthony (Lisa) , Waterdown, Ont. She is also survived by three great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Mary Florence was the oldest of 16 children: Edna Suitor, Angus (Carmelita), both of Port Hawkesbury; Catherine (Bill)MacGillivary, Afton; Claire (Charlie)MacDonald, Skye Glen; Donald, Creignish; Grace (Mike) Tapics, London, Ont.; Willie (Louise), Little Judique; Byron (Gerri), Halifax; Allan, Newfoundland; Lillian (Cecil) Dunlop, Truro; Robert (Sadia), Toronto, Ont.; Monica (George) Goodall and Martha (Richard) Gillis, both of PortHood. She was predeceased by a brother in infancy; and her sister Theresa in (2004).
She will be greeted in heaven by her husband, Donald Angus Beaton, of 42 years, who predeceased her by 16 years.
Visitation will be held in St. Peter`s Parish Hall, Port Hood, on Wednesday, August 7th, from 7-9 pm, Thursday, August 8th, from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral mass will be held Friday, August 9th, in St. Peter`s Church, Port Hood, at 11 a.m. with Father vanZutphen officiating. Burial in the parish cemetery. Family flowers only.
