Mary Helen MacLeod, age 83, of Inverness Nova Scotia, passed away on Sunday April 24, 2022 in Inverness Consolidated Memorial Hospital. Mary was born August 09, 1938 in Inverness. She was a daughter of the late Joseph and Annie Isabel (Desveaux) Poirier.
Mary is survived by her son, Michael and granddaughter, Michaela; and her daughter, Valerie all from the Corner, Inverness. She was predeceased by her husband of 45 years, Joseph (Joe) MacLeod and all of her siblings, William, Hubert, Celena and Peter.
Mary was a member of Stella Maris Parish Inverness, and had great faith. She was a fantastic cook and baker and grew alot of her own vegetables through the years. She was a talented crafter, quilter, and knitter. She could sew with an antique sewing machine or a modern one, and she was an artist with crochet cotton.
Mary was a loving, kind and gentle woman greatly loved by her children, grandchild and all that new her. She will be missed dearly.
Funeral Mass will take place in Stella Maris Church, Inverness at a later date, followed by burial in the parish cemetery.
