Mary Margaret MacNeil

MacNeil Mary Margaret, Age 85, It is with great sadness that we, the family, announce the sudden passing of our mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and aunt on Wednesday April 1, 2015, in Inverness Consolidated Memorial Hospital. Born in Glasgow, Scotland on January 4, 1930, mom was the eldest born to the late John and Anne (McCunnie) Henderson. Mary was a woman of great faith and member of the C.W.L. and Stella Maris Church, Inverness. She is survived by her children, Allan (Judith), Toronto; Anne (Stephen) Kennedy, Inverness; John Michael (Julie), Massy, Ont., Mary Jane (Robert) Blinkhorn, Sydney River; Donald (Randi), Mississauga, Ont., Margaret (Joseph) Hinkley, Middle River; Catherine (Steven) Stocks, Brampton Ont., William, Inverness; James (Cathy), Inverness; 21 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by sisters, Catherine, Joan and Margaret, all of Scotland. Mary is predeceased by her husband, Dan Angus MacNeil (1997) and her brother, William Henderson (2015).

Visitation will be held in Inverness Funeral Home on Tuesday April 7, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, April 8 at 11a.m. in Stella Maris Church, Inverness, with Fr. Duncan MacIsaac officiating; burial at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Autistic Society of Nova Scotia or to Stella Maris Parish Church Fund, Inverness or to a charity of your choice.
