

Rorison, Robert – 71, passed away on September 23, 2010, in Inverness Consolidated Memorial Hospital. Born in Inverness on August 27, 1939, he was a son of the late John and Helen Caroline (Hill) Rorison. Robert was a member of St. Matthew’s United Church, Inverness. He left Inverness at age 19 and worked in Nepean, Ont. at the Burnett dairy farm for nine years. He also worked in Sudbury, Ont. at the Inco Nickel Mine for 30 years. Robert retired and moved back to Inverness where he enjoyed visiting friends and playing C.B. Radio Bingo. He was also an avid lover of baseball. He enjoyed playing the spoons while listening to fiddle music. Robert enjoyed the art of tormenting his fellow friends. He was an unassuming and charming man who was loved by all.
He is survived by sisters, Margaret, Inverness; and June (late Don) Christopher, Mabou; stepchildren, Brenda, (Jordie), Maxine, Faye, Henry and Bruce all of Ontario. Robert is also survived by special friends, Joan and Kelvin Burnett and family, Ontario; several nieces and nephews. Robert was predeceased by his wife Eileen; brothers, David, John, William, George, and Ivan; sisters, Annie, Katherine, Helen and Jessie. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be on Saturday, September 25 in St. Matthew’s United Church, Inverness from 10 - 10:45 a.m. with funeral service to follow at 11 a.m., Rev Maggie Plant celebrating. Burial to take place at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Canadian Diabetes Association or to Central Inverness Palliative Care Society.
