Buchanan, Sterling Peter -76, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 24, 2013, in Inverness Consolidated Memorial Hospital. Born in Fredericton, P.E.I. on September 13, 1936, he was the son of the late Peter and Maria (Gamster) Buchanan.

He will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 51 years, Eileen (Weir) Buchanan, Port Hood. Sterling is survived by sons, Peter Buchanan and David Buchanan, both of Port Hood; daughter, Heather (Harold) Stright, Murray Corner, N. B. Remembered by nephew, Mark (Kristina) Weir, Truro; niece, Donna (Joey) MacDonald, Port Hood and their families.

He was a loving Grandfather to Reita, Travis, Adam and Steven Stright and one great-grandfather, Brayden Stright; as well as a caring uncle to his many neices and nephews.

He is also survived by his sisters, Mary (late Roy) Smith, South Granville, P.E.I.; Mae (late Herb) Ward, North Granville, P.E.I.; and brother, Eric (Elizabeth) Buchanan of South Granville, P.E.I.; many sisters and brothers-in-law.

He was predeceased by sisters Georgie (Gerald) Smith, Margret Buchanan; and brothers, Stanley and Murdock Buchanan.

Visitation will be held in Port Hood Resting Place on Sunday, January 27, from 7-9 p.m.

Sterling will also rest in Davison Funeral Home, Kensingston, P.E.I. on Tuesday from 2-4 p.m. Burial will take place in Fredericton P.E.I. at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or to a charity of your choice.
