Yvonne Gertrude MacKenzie

MacKenzie Yvonne Gertrude, Age 79, of Inverness, passed away peacefully in Inverness Consolidated Memorial Hospital on Friday, October 27, 2017 surrounded by her family. Yvonne was a member of Stella Maris Church, Inverness and was the daughter, of the late Charles and Catherine (MacLellan) Doyle (of Inverness). Mom was a gentle, caring women. She enjoyed her daily walks with her son Charlie. She loved her chats with people she would meet along the way. She also had a great love for animals, especially cats. Among other things in life she was an avid bingo player. Mom was very proud of her children and dearly loved her grandchildren, Jonathan, Matthew and Kenzie. She is survived by her children, Charlie, Darlene, Bernie, Inverness; Gerard (Tuesdae), Waterloo, Ontario; siblings, Theresa, P.A. (Mary), Iris, Elmer, Shirley, Ann (Jack), Blanche (Donnie), Stephen (Evelyn), Bernard (Linda), Edmund, Eldon, Jerry and Marie (Paul).

Mom was predeceased by her husband, Charles Kenneth MacKenzie; baby boy, Stephen Vincent; sisters, Madeline "Mookie" and Charlene in infancy.

Mom will be sadly missed but never forgotten. Visitation will be held in Stella Maris Church on Wednesday Nov 1 from 10-10:45 a.m. with Funeral Mass to follow at 11 a.m. Fr. Dan MacDonald officiating. Burial to follow in the parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Central Inverness Palliative Care Society or to Stella Maris Parish Cemetery Fund, Inverness.
