Bessie Joan Bailey

Bessie Joan Bailey, age 79, of Iowa Park, Texas passed away on Tuesday, March 14, 2023. Joan, as she was better known, was born on January 26, 1944 to Marvin Edward and Retha Mae Wilson in Chillicothe, Texas. Joan married Troy Joe Bailey on January 28, 1961 in Chillicothe, Texas. Troy and Joan were married for 52 years, the only separating them was Troy’s passing in 2013. Together Joan and Troy had 2 boys and Joan spent her time as a loving mom and later a grandma and great grandma. Joan was a self-described homebody, she loved to read and watch TV. Her world revolved around her family. Joan is preceded in death by her parents to Marvin Edward and Retha Mae Wilson; her husband Troy J. Bailey; son David Bailey; and two of her brothers, Gib and Bill Wilson. She is survived by her son Michael Bailey and wife Vonna; brother Buddy Wilson and wife Mary L.; Grandchild Tara Bailey and her children Madison Bailey and Bailey Loyd; and granddaughter Ericka Walsh. A visitation for Joan will be held at Dutton Funeral Home, Iowa Park, Texas on Thursday, March 16, 2023, at 6:00pm and Funeral Services will be held at the Dutton Funeral Home Chapel in Iowa Park, Texas, Friday, March 17, 2023, at 1:00 pm.
