Funeral Services will be held at 2 PM on Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at Dutton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Clifton McFadden officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery under the direction of Dutton Funeral Home.
Mr. Cockrum was born December 26, 1934 in Lamar County, Texas to Jim “Buster” and Alice Faye (Cooper) Cockrum and attended school while growing up in Cooper, Texas. He was a self employed oil pumper for over 30 years.
He was preceded in death by parents; his step-mother, Lou Ella Cockrum; one sister, Clara Lou Cockrum, and one brother, J. C. Cockrum.
Surviving relatives include two daughters, Charlotte Artley of Gainesville, Texas and Jo Kennedy and husband, Marc of Denver, Colorado; three sisters, Mary Johnson of Ralls, Texas; Juanita Gilbert of Idalou, Texas; and Charlene Ladd of Fordyce, Arkansas; 5 grandchildren, 1 step grandchild, 4 great grandchildren and 2 step great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home on Tuesday, December 28, 2010.
