Hughrene McDonald Culpepper Medford

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, October 29, 2010 in New Electra Cemetery with Mr. Charlie Thomason officiating. Services are under the direction of Dutton Funeral Home of Iowa Park, Texas.

Hughrene was born May 15, 1917 in Rochester, Texas to the late Richard Clay and Docia Burleson Culpepper. She lived in the Electra and Wichita Falls areas most of her life, graduating from Electra High School and then attending Midwestern University. She was a member of the Southside Church of Christ of Electra, and Edgemere Church of Christ after moving to Wichita Falls, and later, Faith Village Church of Christ in Wichita Falls. She married Howard L. McDonald in Frederick, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death in August, 1964. Hughrene worked for several years for the Electra Telephone Company. After the death of Mr. McDonald, she married J.W. (Dub) Medford, who also preceded her in death. She was a member of the Woman’s Forum of Wichita Falls and had also owned a Relax the Back store in Dallas.

She is survived by her three sons, Gary Lee McDonald of Wichita Falls; Richard McDonald and wife, Judy, of Richardson, Texas; and Michael McDonald and wife, Susan, of Salt Lake City, Utah; two grandsons, Gary Lee McDonald, Jr. and Corey McDonald of Long Beach, California; a granddaughter, Lea, and 2 great grandsons, Jarrett Wayne McDonald and J. J. Rodriquez.
