

Odessa Ann Staley, 80, passed away on October 13, 2015 in Wichita Falls, Texas. A Visitation will be held from 6pm to 8pm Thursday, October 15, at Dutton Funeral Home in Iowa Park, Texas. A Graveside Service will be held at 10am Friday, October 16, at Highland Cemetery in Iowa Park, Texas.
Odessa was born near Walters, Oklahoma on December 15, 1934 to Wesley and Jessie Mae Martin. She married Melvin “Tex” David Staley, Sr. on January 31, 1949. After a brief trip to California, they settled down in the Wichita Falls area. Odessa worked as a seamstress, and excellent at that she was. She could work wonders with any type of fabric materials. She liked golf, and loved fishing and camping. She especially enjoyed family trips to Possum Kingdom Lake. Odessa was very strong in her faith. At her last count, she had read her bible cover to cover 64 times. She was a Godly woman who loved her family deeply.
She is preceded in death by her husband Melvin “Tex” David Staley Sr., and daughter Cynthia Ann Lewis.
Survivors include: Sons Melvin D. Staley Jr. and wife, Lisa, and Francis Glen Staley and wife, Anna, grandchildren, Anna Marie Bogart, and husband, Will, and Scott Lewis and wife, Michelle, great-grandchildren, Taylor and Ashley-Ann, and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Wichita Falls, and Integra Care.
