Ray Melvin Napier

Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, November 18, 2010 at New Hope United Pentecostal Church with Rev. Donnie Napier, son of Ray, officiating. Burial will be at New Electra Cemetery under the direction of Dutton Funeral Home of Iowa Park, Texas.

Ray was born December 29, 1939 in Bragg City, Missouri to Virgil and Velvia Windberry Napier. He and Ethel Butler were married May 16, 1959 in Muskegon, Michigan. He was a machinist for many years and was employed by Standard Enterprises as a maintenance supervisor. He was a member of New Hope United Pentecostal Church of Electra.

His parents and a grandson, Dustin Keith Napier, preceded him in death.

He is survived by his wife, Ethel Napier of Electra, Texas; children, Tom Napier and wife, Leslie of Electra, Texas: Donnie Napier and wife, Mary of Rayville, Louisiana; Ronnie Napier and wife, Kim of Holliday, Texas; Leon Napier of West Monroe, Louisiana and John Napier of Columbia, Missouri; Shae Ward of Electra, Texas; 12 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren; brothers, Louie Napier of Muskegon, Michigan and Gary Napier of Kannapolis, North Carolina; sister, Samantha of Anchorage, Alaska and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be Wednesday, November 17, 2010 from 6 until 8 p.m. at New Hope United Pentecostal Church of Electra.
