Alan was a former member of the United States Marine Corps Reserves where he proudly served our country. He was also a member of the Mason of Ohio. He was a graduate of the University of Cincinnati having received his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. Alan had a long career in the Food Service Industry beginning at Anderson University for 16 years as Food Service Director then moving to Houghton College for 17 years. He retired from Columbia International University in 2002 where he was the Assistant Food Service Director. Alan continued his love of food service and creativity following his retirement. He was an artist with watermelon carvings and ice sculptures. He was an avid collector of trains, planes, cars, stamps and also enjoyed hand painting old war airplanes.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Janet; daughter, Karen Rehn; son, Jeffrey Rehn; and grandson, Christopher Alan Rehn. He was preceded in death by his brother, Jack C. Rehn.
