Allan Lowell Crawford passed away unexpectedly at the age of 52 on November 3, 2021 with his devoted wife, Cheryl by his side. Allan was born on August 23, 1969 in Huntsville, Alabama. He moved to Columbia, SC for work which is where he reconnected with his high school sweetheart and love of his life, Cheryl. Though he wasn’t on earth long enough, he left an indelible mark on everyone he met. Allan had a sense of humor that lit up any room and kept those around him on their toes never knowing what crazy antics were going to occur next. He was lovingly called a “nut job” by his wife which fit him perfectly. He loved his family and friends fiercely and would do anything for them. He loved the Lord and was not afraid to live it out loud. His family and dear friends find comfort knowing they will see him again.
Allan was an avid outdoorsman and loved swimming, biking, hiking, fishing and kayaking. He loved history and would always say he was a simple man who knows a little bit about a lot of stuff. His most favorite thing of all time though was spending time with his wife and children creating memories and filling their “buckets.”
He is survived by his soulmate Cheryl; children Zachary, Jacob, Kenneth (Kelsey), Julia, Hailey and Chase; his mother, Nancy Granshaw; his Father and Mother in law, Tom and Nancy Boeggeman; his Aunt Sally (Tom); his brother, Robert; his sisters Christina (Kandy), Jessica, Kellie (Rick), Kaitlyn and his stepbrother Steven (Kuky); along with multiple nieces, nephews, a great-niece, godson and cousins. He is predeceased by his father, Sid, his stepfather Jerry, his Aunt Sue, both sets of grandparents and his sister Julie.
Allan would want everyone to remember him by living their lives to the fullest and without regrets. He recently posted this quote which perfectly sums him up:
“Write it on your heart that everyday is the best day in the year.” - Ralph Waldo Emerson
There will be a memorial service on Saturday, November 20, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. with an optional drop in visitation to receive friends and family from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Dunbar Funeral Home, 7609 Woodrow Street, Irmo, SC 29063.
