Anita L Cox

Anita L Cox, 72, of Irmo, South Carolina passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 21, 2024. She was born to Larry and Wilma Helms on May 2, 1951, in Des Moines, Iowa. Anita was the wife of the late Ron Cox with whom she shared 40 loving years.

Anita was a member of Chapin Baptist Church, where she engrained herself in the community serving on SALT Ministry Leadership and taking part in many mission trips over the years. She especially loved being a part of the Serendipity Sunday School Class and serving in Grace Cafe on Sunday mornings with dear friends. She enjoyed using her time to serve others through a multitude of sewing projects and various crafts. She will be remembered for devoting her time and love to her family, including numerous trips to visit family out of state.

In addition to her mother, Anita is survived by her daughter, Ronda Thompson (Paul); beloved granddaughters, Shelby McDowell (Seth) and Sydney Thompson (Andrew Porter); Great-grandchildren, Callie and Brantley McDowell; her two sisters, Cathy Muckenfuss (George) and Susan Cain; a niece, Dory Hand and her family.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, March 3rd at Chapin Baptist Church (950 Old Lexington Highway, Chapin, South Carolina 29036). The family will greet friends from 2:00 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. in the church sanctuary. A burial will immediately follow the service.
