Anita was an amazing Mom to her three kids - Stacy, Eric, and Cory. She instilled in them a love for God, how to see The Creator in Nature, a joy of reading and learning, and showed them daily what kindness and unconditional love to everyone truly meant. As her kids grew up and had families of their own, she lovingly welcomed in their spouses - Jeff, Liliana, and Alex - as her own. She was always there for them all anytime she was needed. Her thirteen grandchildren all were blessed to have her closely involved in their lives. She made crafts with them, played with them, took them to the zoo, was involved at their schools, spent hours on the phone just to stay close to those who had moved away and so much more. She loved her husband, her children, and her grandchildren fiercely and completely.
She had a lifelong true friendship and deep relationship with her family, especially with her two sisters, who remained her best friends her entire life.
She was an amazing friend to all who were blessed to know her and see her smile. She never met a stranger and truly taught what it meant to live sacrificially, constantly serving whenever, whoever, and however she could.
In her last years, Anita battled constant illness with strength and dignity. Even as she battled Covid in her last days, she made sure her family and friends knew she loved them and was so proud of them all. But even more than that, she made sure they knew that if her time here on Earth was over, they didn’t need to mourn for her because she knew beyond a shadow of a doubt where she would be. She knew that if she lost the physical fight here, that would mean her complete healing and joy because she loved Jesus and she believed His promise for complete healing forever with Him in Heaven. If it was possible for Anita to love anyone more than her family and friends, it was her love for Jesus and her trust in Him.
Anita has said “goodbye for now” to Mike, her babies, her grandbabies, mother-in-law, sisters, brother-in-law, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends beyond count.
Our grief at her loss is overwhelming, but only because we miss her so much already. Despite this grief, we have abundant joy that our beloved, cherished, precious Anita is no longer hurting, but endlessly talking and singing her beautiful alto with our Jesus and the many family members that went before her that she had missed so much.
So Anita, Mom, Mamaw, MamaMia - we miss you so badly, but have peace knowing we will see you soon. Until then, rest well, good and faithful servant. We have all been blessed because we knew you.
Her celebration of life will be held Saturday, March 20th, 2021 at 10:00 am at Riverland Hills Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made Miracle Hill Ministries at miraclehill.org
