Arthur Quinton Wise

COLUMBIA - Graveside Service for Arthur Quinton Wise, 89, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, August 24, 2015 in Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation will follow at 11:00 a.m. at Centennial A.R.P. Church. Dunbar Funeral Home, Dutch Fork Chapel, Irmo is assisting the family. Mr. Wise passed away Friday, August 21, 2015. Born in Athens, GA, he was a son of the late Ralph Quinton Wise and Allee Short Wise. He was the husband of the late Elsie Maybin Wise. Mr. Wise served in the US Navy during WWII and was a 1949 graduate of the University of Georgia. He retired from Sears and Roebuck following 35 years of service. He was a member of Central United Methodist Church in Asheville, NC for 40 years before moving to Columbia in 2001 where he became a member, and eventually an elder, at Centennial A.R.P. Church. Surviving are his daughters, Susan Wise and Lynn Tribble; son-in-law, Dr. Ben Tribble; grandson, Brantley Tribble; and great-granddaughter, Adelaide Lynn Tribble. He is also survived by a sister, Dorothy Jones. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Ralph, William and Wallace Wise.
