My mind has been whirling with memories of Brett when he was little.  One of the funniest things I have ever seen was when Brett was about six months old.  We were eating at a Chinese restaurant (I think) and Brett was eating a teething wafer.  The cookie got gummy, as they do, and got stuck to Brett's cheek.  The memory of the sweet and hilarious expressions on his face as he tried to retrieve it still brings a huge smile to my face.  As toddlers, he and my Kate were inseparable.  Anytime Brett would see her, he'd yell, "KATY!!"  Such a sweet boy.  Our love is with your entire family during a time I can't even imagine.

My son, Garion, who has a mild form of autism was very saddened by the news. Even though they didn't see eachother or talk he cosidered Brett a friend. It is truly a special person who touches the heart of someone with autism. Thanks Brett for making my son feel noticed.

You will always be my little man.  I  wish there was more time we had together but life has changed. Brett loved talking about going snowboarding and because of him i actually am going to try it cause i have never been. He loved the South Carolina Gamecocks.Anything dealing with Gamecocks u best believe he had was involved. I LOVE U BRO AND I MISS U HOMIE.

Brett was always a good friend to me. Even when he moved to Summerville, he kept up with me. Wish I could have seen him one last time.

He was like family to me. Even tho i only knew him for only 2 years, he still was like a brother to me. I was with him in his last minutes of living. He was the most sincere, big hearted person i ever knew he helped me out so much. Honestly we helped each other out. Also he was a very funny guy, he knew what to say to u to brighten up your day. I miss him so much and he is always going to have a special place in my heart. I LOVE u so much bro and i know that ur looking down on all of us and making sure were are doing good.

Brett was like a brother to me. He was always able to lighten any mood and make people laugh. He loved his life, and lived every day to the fullest. He will always be loved and will always be in my heart.

We are so sorry to hear your news.  It doesn't seem natural to bury our children and grandchildren.  Brett was such a sweet boy and grew into a sweet man.  I know that he is missed and loved ever so deeply.  Please know that Jesus has him in the palm of His hand right now.  Words are never enough to comfort in times like these.
