

Born and raised in Whitmire, South Carolina, Charles Gregory lived a full and vibrant life marked by laughter, friendship, and a deep devotion to family. He passed away peacefully on July 31, 2025, at the age of 91.
A proud veteran, Charlie served his country in the United States Air Force before building a long and successful career selling heavy equipment. Known for his personable nature and quick wit, he never met a stranger. His friendships ran deep, and many of those closest to him became like family.
He was a proud member of the Irmo Navy and The Brunch Bunch—groups that brought him joy, community, and years of memorable times. His weekends were often spent shrimping and fishing in Beaufort, one of his favorite places to relax and enjoy life.
In his younger years, Charlie was a talented athlete, excelling in both football and boxing. He remained a dedicated sports fan throughout his life—even choosing to marry the love of his life, Janet Hobert Gregory, on Super Bowl Sunday so he could celebrate with loved ones and still catch the game.
Charlie is survived by his devoted wife, Janet; his brother, Ronald Gregory (Pat) of Eastover, SC; his sons, Michael Gregory (Lisa) of Raleigh, NC, and Kevin Gregory of West Columbia, SC; his grandsons, Michael, Mason, Costin, and Grayson Gregory; and five beloved great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his parents, Robert and Mary Gregory; his brother, Bob Gregory; his son, Kent Gregory; and infant son, Chuck Gregory.
Charlie will be remembered as a fun-loving, spirited man who brought joy to everyone around him. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, laughter, and love. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to know him.
