

Christine Rae Johnstone, born in Alhambra, California, on January 26, 1967, passed away peacefully on March 18, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and inspiration as she now is with God in heaven.
Christine is survived by her devoted husband, Gordon (“Gordo”) Johnstone; children Jonathan, Emily, Ethan, and Tyson; her sister Michele; and her beloved parents, Catherine and John. She is also remembered fondly by her fur babies, Chase and Doogal.
Known for her vibrant spirit and boundless energy, Christine had a remarkable ability to create community wherever she went. She lived a life filled with courage, creativity, and a love for the outdoors, frequently hiking through mountains and seeking the beauty of waterfalls. Her bold and independent soul was reflected in her love of rock music, rockabilly fashion, and the tattoos she collected as expressions of her unique identity.
Christine's passion for life extended to her family, church, and community. In recent years, she devoted herself to being a stay-at-home mom, an active member of East Lake Community Church, and a mentor with Ezekiel Ministries, where she guided a young girl from a single-parent home, sharing lessons of perseverance, strength, and compassion.
A committed follower of Christ, Christine’s faith was the foundation of her life. She lived with purpose, kindness, and love, leaving an indelible mark on all who were fortunate enough to know her. She will be forever remembered as a protector, survivor, and teacher of life's most valuable lessons—strength, love, and perseverance.
Christine's warm heart and unwavering devotion will continue to inspire all who knew her, both near and far. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of her family, friends, and all those whose lives she touched.
A funeral service will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, March 22, 2025 at East Lake Church,10057 Broad River Road, Irmo, SC.
