Frank B. Herty, Jr.

A graveside service will be held on Sunday, June 8, 2025, at 2:00 pm. at Elmwood Cemetery, 501 Elmwood Avenue, Columbia, S.C. 29201.

Mr. Herty was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. He was the son of the late Frank B. Herty Sr. and Elizabeth M. Herty. He served in the U.S. Air Force, retiring in 1976 as a Lt. Colonel. He was a member of Saint Martin de Porres Catholic Church.

He is survived by his wife, Janet P. Herty of Columbia, S.C., son Frank B. Herty, III (Rita) of Hilton Head Island S.C., daughters Mary Hartshorn (David) of Katy, TX., Elizabeth Chapman (Ellis) of Berryville, VA., and Diane Hall (William) of Hanahan, S.C., stepdaughters Stephanie Catoe of Columbia, S.C. and Amanda Blackwell (Jamey) of Chapin, S.C. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Diane F. Herty, his daughter Amanda Taylor (Lindsey) of Christiansburg, VA., granddaughter Mary Louise Pasicatan (Marvel) of Katy TX., grandson SFC James Moore (Christina), of Cameron, N.C. He had fourteen grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, twenty-four great-grandchildren, and three step-great-grandchildren.
