
Georgette P. Buff, 75, of Irmo, South Carolina passed away June 13, 2022, from injuries she sustained in an automobile accident. Born in Columbia, she was predeceased by her mother, Earnie P. Phillips, her father George A. Pechilis and stepfather James Phillips. She leaves behind her former husband, Marion Buff of Columbia, son Troy Buff of Lexington, daughter Carol Buff of Irmo, four grandchildren, Joy, Zachary, Sarah and McKenna, one great grandson Langston and her beloved four legged furry companion, Squeakie the cat! She also leaves behind several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews she loved dearly.
Mrs. Buff was a 1965 graduate of Eau Claire High School in Columbia, SC. She married in December of 1965, and became a stay at home mother in August of 1967. She later returned to the work force part time as a medical transcriptionist and remained in that field for over thirty years; working at South Carolina Neurological Clinic and Providence Hospital. After some industry changes she left the field, taking a few years off before going to work at the jewelry counter in Kohl’s department store where she retired after 10 years of service in 2019.
Mrs. Buff was a charter member of Gateway Baptist Church where she was active for many years before moving her membership to Riverland Hills Baptist Church. She loved her church families dearly, enjoyed going on senior outings several years ago and attending OASIS luncheons when she was able to. She was a prayer warrior and a Godly women of unwavering faith. She loved Jesus with all her heart, was full of compassion for others; and was always there to lend a hand or listening ear. She was a doting grandmother and loved spending as much time as she could with her family. She enjoyed watching the sunsets at Lake Murray and reading her bible. She loved animals, and had a heart of gold! She loved yellow roses and her favorite color was purple. She will be greatly missed by all those whose lives she touched!
Visitation will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, June 25th at Riverland Hills Baptist Church located at 201 Lake Murray Blvd., Irmo, SC 29063. The memorial service will be held immediately after visitation at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to any charity of one’s choice.
