

Hal Edward Lowder passed away on March 29, 2026, at the age of 81. He was a resident of Lexington, South Carolina. Born on February 1, 1945, in Albemarle, North Carolina, Hal was the youngest of three children born to the late Cull Ruben Lowder and Martha Elizabeth Lowder.
Hal served his country with honor as a medic in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. Following his military service, he built a respected career as a regional sales manager for the Life Insurance Company of Virginia.
On December 15, 1964, Hal married his sweetheart, Patricia Russell Lowder. Together they shared sixty-one wonderful years of marriage, marked by steadfast devotion and deep family pride.
A faithful and dedicated member of his community, Hal taught Sunday school for forty years at First Baptist Church Simpsonville, South Carolina, and was a member of the Hejaz Temple. In his spare time, he enjoyed time on the golf course with friends and found great satisfaction in woodworking.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Jack Lowder.
Surviving are his wife; daughter, Leslee Berlin (David); grandson, Jonathan Berlin; granddaughter, Meghan Satterfield (Austin); his sister, Joyce Ann Lowder; and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at Dunbar Funeral Home, Dutch Fork, on April 9, from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. A private graveside service will be held.
