Haley graduated from the University of South Carolina with a Bachelor’s degree in Education in May 2019 and began teaching third grade at Dutch Fork Elementary School in August 2019. She knew early in life she wanted to teach third grade. She always enjoyed mentoring younger children and being a role model.
Haley began dancing at age four and continued throughout high school, making lifelong friends and learning to express herself in so many ways. An avid Carolina Gamecock and Atlanta Braves fan, she enjoyed watching football, baseball, and women’s basketball. In her spare time, she loved getting lost in a good book, and enjoyed spending time with friends. She will be remembered for her infectious laugh and sincere joy of life and love for Christ. Haley was engaged to the love of her life, Corbin Newton and loved her furbaby boy, Boomer.
Haley faced her year-long battle against cancer with faith, courage and belief that God had a plan, touching the hearts of all the nurses, doctors and medical staff at every treatment center she went to. She faced death with the calm peace that God was in control. Her biggest desire was that everyone would know Jesus like she did.
Surviving are her mother, Pamela Armstrong Plemmons, father, Mark Harrill Plemmons and brother, Brandon Alexander Plemmons, all of Irmo; grandmother, Ruby Craig Armstrong of Lexington; fiance Corbin Kirby Newton of Columbia; and her beloved furbaby, Boomer.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 4, 2022 at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Thursday, March 3, 2022, at Dunbar Funeral Home, Dutch Fork Chapel.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.dunbarfuneralhomedutchfork.com for the Plemmons family.
