Helen Miller

CHAPIN – Helen Monts Miller passed away on Tuesday, December 2, 2025. Visitation will be from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, on Tuesday, December 9th at Dunbar Funeral Home, Dutch Fork Chapel. There will be a private, family interment afterward at 2:00 pm.

Mrs. Miller was born June 11, 1958 in Columbia, South Carolina. She was the daughter of the late David S. and Mary (“Liz”) Walker Monts. Mrs. Monts graduated from the University of South Carolina with a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing in 1980, and subsequently completed a Masters program to become a clinical nurse specialist. She worked as a Pediatric Nurse for over 30 years, mostly at Richland Memorial Children’s Hospital in Columbia. She met her husband, who worked in the main hospital, while there. They were married in April 1988.

Mrs. Miller is survived by her husband Richard (“Rick”) Miller of 37 years, her sister Nancy Monts, several cousins, her sister-in-law Linda Mathis, and brothers-in-law Danny Miller and Tim Miller.

Mrs. Miller enjoyed reading, taking cruises with her husband, spending time with all her beloved fur babies, fishing for catfish off her dock on Lake Murray, and following the Lady Gamecocks basketball team.
