Johnnie was the proud co-owner of Mid-Carolina Marine, with his partner Taylor Smith, for more than 30 years, where he made lots of friendships and added to his family circle. He loved spending time with his friends hunting, fishing, and boating with the family.
A true follower and believer of Jesus, he volunteered in the nursery at a young age, with his mother, at Shandon Baptist where he grew up in Columbia. A while after moving to Chapin, the family became members of Chapin Baptist Church and have been there for 40 years.
He was predeceased by his infant son in 1970 and his son Billie D. Snipes in 1995. He is Survived by his wife of 57 years, Sandra L Snipes; a daughter, Erin Cawood (Chris); Sister, Mary A Brown (Jerry); Niece, Laura B Lang (George) and their son Sam Lang; Nephew, Mark Brown (Stacy) and their son Jayden; and his precious grandkids, C. Hayden Cawood and Callasandra M Cawood.

There are so many that have supported him and visited that we wish we could list every name. The family would also like to thank Amedisys Hospice, Caring Oasis Homecare, and Comfort Keepers for assisting.
In Lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association or Chapin Baptist Church.
