Mr. Jose Rodriguez

Funeral Mass for Jose “Uncle Joe” J. Rodriguez, 76, will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 28, 2015 at Our Lady of the Hills Catholic Church. Rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, July 27, 2015 at Dunbar Funeral Home, Dutch Fork Chapel with visitation to follow until 8:00 p.m.

Mr. Rodriguez passed away Monday, July 20, 2015. Born in Naguabo, Puerto Rico, he was a son of the late Pedro Rodriguez and Cristina Lopez Rodriguez. He lived most of his adult life in Long Island, NY where he worked as a respected auto mechanic. He retired from Classic Limousine before relocating to South Carolina in 2006. He was a member of Our Lady of the Hills Catholic Church where he was inducted into the Knights of Columbus as a 4th Degree Knight. He spent his retirement years as a full-time volunteer, putting his considerable handyman skills at the service of others, especially in support of St. Martin de Porres Catholic School and Home Works of America, where with other volunteers he repaired the homes of the elderly and disabled.

He is survived by his wife, Carlonia Sanders Rodriguez; daughter and son-in-law, Nanette and Richie Molina; son, Jose Rodriguez, Jr.; grandchildren, Richard Molina Jr., Kayla Molina, Kimberly Rodriguez Figueroa and Jose Rodriguez. He is also survived by a brother, Marcial Rodriguez; sisters, Lydia Rodriguez and Claudina Melendez. He was preceded in death by his late wife, Elsie Rodriguez; brothers, Pedro and Basilio Rodriguez and sister, Josefina Mendez.
