

Columbia – Luke Morgan, 22, died Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at Lexington Medical Center, after a very hard fought battle with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. Born December 7, 1992 in Wilmington, N.C., Luke was the son of Jim and Laura Morgan. He was a 2011 graduate of Eugene Ashley High School in Wilmington, N.C. and a student at the University of South Carolina when he was diagnosed with cancer. Luke is survived by his parents, a cherished brother, Matt and his loving puppies, Coco, Maggie and Mira. He is also survived by grandmother, Angie Lazzaretto of Rockford, Ill; great aunt, Nancy Pasquesi of Highland Park, Ill.; great aunts and uncles, Jim and Louise McCarthy of Highland Park, Ill., Marco and Doris Santi of Lake Forest, Ill.; aunts and uncles Lynn and Mike Thompson of La Canada, Calif., Sara Moore of Glenview, Ill., Dan and Susan Morgan of Grayslake, Ill., Tom and Renee Morgan of Southern Pines, N.C., Steve and Jeanne Roggensack of Loves Park, Ill., and Mike and Amy Lazzaretto of Lake Forest, Ill.; Luke is also survived by many cousins. He is predeceased by his grandparents, Roger and Norma Morgan and John Lazzaretto. A special thanks to Luke’s wonderful oncologist, Dr. Steven Madden at Lexington Oncology and the entire staff and nurses. A very special thanks to Luke’s chemo buddy, Bishop Preston A. Godwin.
