Michael Joseph Edelmayer, Jr. born August 16, 1937, in Cincinnati, Ohio to Michael Joseph Edelmayer, Sr. and Mable Eberle Edelmayer passed away on August 10, 2024, after a brief illness. He and his Tulip, Pat Crocker Edelmayer, celebrated 50 years of marriage in April 2024.
He was promoted to Division Manager with R.J. Reynolds and moved from Ohio to Columbia, SC. He retired from RJR in 1993.
He lived life to the fullest with his abundance of friends whether it was bowling, boating, fishing, traveling or “Mama, just one more”. His greatest memories were spent with his family and friends for Turtles, cruises, beach trips, pool parties, playing cards, cornhole, road trips to Cherokee, and Braves baseball. In addition, his other loves were his dogs, Winston, Vegas, and Lexi, and feeding and watching his backyard birds and Mr. “T”.
Some of his proudest moments were watching his salespeople thrive, winning a trip to Hawaii for work achievements and walking his granddaughter, Brooke Allyson Brakefield, down the aisle.
He always felt so blessed to have such an amazing group of friends who loved life like he did.
MIKEY LOVED LIFE TO THE FULLEST AND DID IT HIS WAY.
A visitation will be held at Dunbar Funeral Home, Dutch Fork Chapel on Woodrow Street from 1:00-3:00 p.m. on Friday, August 16, 2024. A Celebration of his life and his 87th birthday will follow at Hemingways at 7467 St. Andrews Road, Irmo for those who want to attend.
