

Mrs. Patterson passed away early Sunday, January 28, 2024 after suffering several ongoing illnesses. Born in Atlanta, Georgia, on February 1, 1934, she was a daughter of Dean Auburn Street and Myrtice Irene Argo Street.
Surviving are her husband, Edwin F. Patterson; son, Russell Patterson (Wanda) of Lexington, SC; two grandchildren, Kaitlyn (Rene) Onate and Cameron Patterson. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her daughter, Edwina “Wendy” Patterson, and sister Auburn Smith (Raymond).
Mrs. Patterson loved and enjoyed her family. There were many family camping trips. One of their favorite places was the Jaymar Park in Hendersonville, NC. She and Ed travelled to Europe and most of the United States. Some of the most enjoyable times were going on numerous cruises with their daughter Wendy. Recently the couple celebrated being married for 71 enjoyable years.
The Pattersons are very regular attendees of the First Baptist Columbia television ministry congregation for 23 years. Mildred was very active in the SC Baptist Convention where she was at one time the Vice President of the General Board. She travelled throughout SC leading conferences on Inter-Faith Missions, especially on Mormonism. She was also involved in the SC Woman’s Missionary Union.

A funeral service for Mildred Patterson will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 1, 2024 at Bush River Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Chapel, with burial in the mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the chapel.
