

Born on December 25, 1923, in Little Mountain, she was the daughter of the late Jacob Elonzo Sheely and Hattie Stoudemayer Sheely.
A woman of strength, warmth, and quiet dedication, Mrs. Paysinger served her country during World War II as a volunteer with the Signal Corps, War Department, in Washington, D.C., in 1942. She later enjoyed a long and varied career, including roles as a senior sales associate for a national department store on Long Island, New York, and as a sales administrator for an advertising company in Hollywood, California.
She was a lifelong member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Little Mountain, where her faith and community spirit were evident in all she did.
Mrs. Paysinger was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, and grandmother. She is survived by her son, John B. Paysinger III, and his wife, Andrea, of Hilton Head Island, SC; her daughter, Ellen Paysinger Tappero, and her husband, Charles, of Scottsdale, AZ; and her sister, Betty Ann Shealy of Chapin, SC.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, July 21, 2025, at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Little Mountain. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
