

CHAPIN - Scott Temples Player passed away on September 24, 2017. Scott was born in Augusta, Georgia on July 8, 1975 to his parents James Kenneth Player and Cheryl Temples Player. Scott attended school at Chapin Elementary School in Chapin, South Carolina and graduated from Aquinas High School in Augusta, Georgia. He attended college at Augusta State University and graduated from Midlands Technical College in Columbia, South Carolina. He also attended Newberry College in Newberry, South Carolina. Scott was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Chapin branch. Scott was also a volunteer at GOodworks in Chapin. Scott was predeceased by his mother, Cheryl Player. Scott is survived by his father, Ken Player; his brother, Tucker Player (Amber); and his nephew, Holden Everette Player. He is also survived by dozens of aunts, uncles, cousins, and other family stretching from South Carolina and Augusta, Georgia to the State of Washington. Scott was a gentle soul with the heart of a child. Stubborn in beliefs, generous with his heart, and blunt in his speech, Scott was a unique individual. He was southern by birth, and a Georgia Bulldog by the grace of God. Few men loved their mothers like Scott loved his. He has moved on to be with her, and now rests in her loving arms. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on September 30, 2017 at Dunbar Funeral Home, Irmo Chapel, located at 7600 Woodrow Street Irmo, South Carolina. Family visitation will take place during the preceding hour.
