IRMO - A funeral service for Senior Master Sergeant Patrick “Pat” E. Rich, 46, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, August 29, 2021 at Dunbar Funeral Home, Dutch Fork Chapel. The family will receive friends at 12:30 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
Mr. Rich died Sunday, August 15, 2021 from a brief illness. Born in Columbia, SC, he was a son of the late James Edward Rich and Jennifer Fournier Wilds. He was a 1992 graduate of Lower Richland High School. Serving in the SCANG for more than 27 years in the 240th Combat Communications and 169th Logistics Readiness Squadrons, he was deployed 9 times overseas to Iraq, Afghanistan, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, and Jordan. Pat dutifully served at McEntire JNGB as a quintessential logistics expert. Anytime the Swamp Foxes deployed, he was right at their side ensuring all logistics needs were squared away. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing and hunting.
Surviving are his wife, Sherri Rich; daughters, Emily Rollins, Stella Rich, and Grace Rich; son, Caleb Rollins; grandmother, Carlita Horton; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his grandfather, Leon Horton.
