Susie Manos Coleman

Susie Manos Coleman, 69, of Chapin, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on May 6, 2025. She was the beloved daughter of the late Pete (Mary Juel) and Kitty Manos.Born on June 16, 1955, in Bamberg, SC, Susie lived a life full of warmth, generosity, and deep family devotion. She was married to the late Jacob Clark Coleman for 41 wonderful years. Together, they built a loving family and lasting legacy.

A graduate of Bamberg-Ehrhardt High School and attendee of the University of South Carolina, Susie always showed love for people all around. She was an avid chef (particularly of Greek cuisine), restaurant owner with her husband and brothers, and a passionate employee in the hospitality industry, mostly with their family friend Jimmy Kokolis of Zorbas. She was a longtime member of Main Street United Methodist Church. Most recently, Susie served in Richland/Lexington School District Five. Her Greek heritage was a source of pride, joy, and countless delicious meals shared with friends and family.

Susie is survived by her children: Kitty Coleman, Jacob Coleman, and Mary Margaret Coleman; and her cherished grandchildren: Dawson, Kearse, and Charley. She also leaves behind her brothers: Henry Manos, Dan Manos, Stat Manos, and Frank (Lori) Manos; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family who adored her. She is predeceased by her brother Roy.

Her passions were as vibrant as her personality. As a child, Susie had a love for Tennessee Walker horses, winning so many trophies that her room couldn’t hold them all. She also loved nature, never hesitating to climb trees with her four brothers in childhood or enjoy quiet moments at Lake Murray with her husband and family.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday at Dunbar Funeral Home – Dutch Fork Chapel, followed by a reception to celebrate Susie’s life and the many people she touched.
