

Tommy Brantley, 80, of Wagener, SC passed away peacefully at home on Friday, December 19, 2025. Tommy was born in Columbia, SC on November 5, 1945. He attended public schools in Columbia and graduated from AC Flora High School in 1965. He also
attended Wingate College and served in the SC Air National Guard McEntire Air Force Base.
Tommy was one of four children born to Oscar Calvin Brantley, Sr. and Ruby Dabbs Brantley Keller. During his formative years, his mother and father developed tuberculosis and as a result the children were split up among relatives. Tommy and his older brother, Calvin, lived with their beloved aunt and uncle and cousins, the Andersons. Later his father passed away and following his mother’s recovery all the family was reunited in Columbia.
Tommy spent most of his career as a home builder in Columbia and Charleston and worked in other related industries. Upon retirement he moved to Wagener, SC with his son, Jesse and former wife, Becki.
He was survived by his son, Jesse Brantley; his ex-wife, Becki Bowers Brantley; brother, Calvin (Marsha); sister, Jane Gantt (Ted); cousins, Jules Anderson (Lynda), Eve Ernest (Bill) and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Tommy loved his Lord, his family, friends, his music, nature, especially the ocean, rivers and other waters around SC.
Dunbar Funeral Home (Dutch Fork Chapel) is assisting the family with arrangements.
The visitation will be at 1:00 p.m. and the memorial service at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 30. 2025, at the Dutch Fork location of Dunbar Funeral Home (7600 Woodrow Street, Irmo, SC 29063).
A GoFundMe account has been established to assist the family (Jesse and Becki) during this time with ongoing medical and other significant expenses following Tommy’s death.
