Zane William “Bo” Abernethy, Jr. passed away on November 3, 2025. He was the son of Zane William Abernethy, Sr. and Nancy Hart Love Abernethy. Bo was born on November 4, 1976, in Columbia, South Carolina.
He was a lifetime member of Centennial Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church. Bo was a graduate of the Irmo High School class of 1995. He attended the College of Charleston and the University of South Carolina. He was employed by the Township Auditorium for over twenty-five years, serving as the box office manager.
Bo was an avid Gamecock and Miami Dolphins fan. He was a music lover and traveling to concerts was his favorite pastime.
Bo was preceded in death by his mother, Nancy Abernethy. He is survived by his father, Zane Abernethy of Columbia, South Carolina, his sister, Jill Abernethy of Charlotte, North Carolina, and his two nephews Grant Rider of Columbia, South Carolina, and Garrett Rider of Boone, North Carolina, along with his aunts, uncles, cousins, and his crew of lifelong friends.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, November 7th at Dunbar Funeral Home, Dutch Fork Chapel, with a reception to immediately follow.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Centennial Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church in his honor.
