Berwin Arnold Seitz

Of Jackson, passed away on Monday, March 15, 2021 at the age of 96. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Janice Seitz; second wife, Nan Seitz and his brother, Richard Seitz. He is survived by his children, Michael (Mary Warner) Seitz, Bruce (Mary) Seitz and Ron (Carleen) Hoffman; six grandchildren, Dawn (Scott) Garrison, Jan (Shannon) Chambers, Ryan, Bob, Mitch and Eric; six great grandchildren, Ryan, Melissa, Samantha, Nina, Shannon and Brooke. Berwin was born to Fredrick and Doris (Cooley) Seitz in Jackson. He was raised by his grandparents in Jerome, Michigan where he attended a four room school house and graduated in 1942. He proudly served in the United States Army Air Forces and flew in 35 missions over France, Germany and Belgium as a Ball Turret Gunner on a B-24. He was extremely fond of the lifelong friends he had made in the 446 Bombardment Division and enjoyed their reunions. Berwin retired from Walker Manufacturing after many years of service. He enjoyed outdoor activities and had a strong Faith in the Lord. Berwin attended Gorham Baptist Church and was an active member and participated in the build project of Grace Church. His Companion of nearly 30 years, Donna Lukenich and he enjoyed many travel destinations throughout the United States. They would fish on any given day, weather permitting. Mr. Seitz will be laid to rest at Hillcrest Memorial Park on Saturday, March 20, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. with Military Honors.
