Betty was raised in Newberry, Michigan but moved to Milan, Michigan to work at the Ypsilanti State Hospital until her retirement when her and husband Chuck moved to Vandercook Lake in 1971. She was better known as Grandma” Bet” to her family, friends and by her co-workers at the Jackson Eye Center (now known as TLC). She was the all-around go to person if you needed something. No one loved the holidays like Grandma “Bet” and she had the decorations to prove it. It took about a month to get her house ready for the holidays and people actually came by just to see it, especially at Halloween and Christmas, she loved that. She enjoyed the trips, she and husband Chuck made to Germany to visit daughter Nina Jean and her family where they were stationed with the military and the trips to Vegas, but mostly enjoyed her time on Vandercook Lake being able to enjoy watching the variety of wildlife from her window and have family and friends come and spend time. She is predeceased by husband Charles E Petosky, granddaughter Jennifer Doughty, and great grandson Zachary Hinton. Betty has left her family with many memories of good times shared especially at the lake and she will be missed by all but not forgotten by any. Per Betty request cremation has be chosen and no services are planned.
