Brian “Duane” Bridges entered this world on November 3,1964, and departed January 16, 2024. He was born in raised in Jackson, Michigan to the union of his mother, Carolyn (Becky) Wade and father, Willie (Big John) Bridges. After high school graduation, Brian worked briefly for the Michigan Department of Corrections and then decided to join his first cousins in Seattle Washington to pursue higher education and other endeavors. He lived and worked for over 25 years in the Juvenile and Adult Foster Care system in Washington before returning home to Jackson, Michigan. Duane was a student of history and loved deep and profound conversations. He had a gift of gab and with that gift, he never met a stranger. We affectionately called him “Webster” because he could literally talk about any subject and enlighten you. He was very “in-tune” with music and loved breaking down the history of the artist and the instrumental arrangements within the song. And too, his booming, hearty belly laugh that was so infectious, it would compel you to join him in laughter! While he did not have any biological children, he adored and supported his twenty-two nieces and nephews, as they did him. Preceding him in death are his grandparents, Willie and Nina Wade, Henry and Mattie Bridges, special aunt, Nina Patterson, his oldest nephew, Brandon Bridges and sister-in-law, Annie Hall. With all of his immediate family residing in Michigan, his beloved memory and legacy will be cherished by his mother, Carolyn; father, Willie, stepmom Jeannette; his brother Terence (Eileen) Bridges, all of Lansing; his sisters, Sherry (Ronald) Allen of Jackson and Kimberly Wade of Lansing; brothers, Todd (April) Bridges of Albion, Lloyd Wade of Jackson; sister, Shannon Bridges-Johnson of Sterling Heights; brother Delron Hall of Jackson, along with his many great nieces, nephews and cousins. Cremation has taken place and a memorial visitation will be held at Burden & Patience-Montgomery Funeral Home (1806 E. Michigan Ave. Jackson, Michigan 49202) on Thursday February 8, 2024 from 3-6 P.M.
