

Passed away on Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at the age of 93. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Ball in 1996. She is survived by her two daughters, Beth Dotson and Julia Cassaday and one son, Leifson Ball; six grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; three sisters, Winifred Good, Margaret K. Ludlow, Melissa Mohr; two brothers, Herman Mohr and Phillip Mohr. Carol was born to Herbert and Mary (Waterman) Mohr in Brooklyn, MI. She was a graduate of Vandercook Lake High School, was a proud homemaker. She was proud to say that she was the great-great-great niece of Austrian clergyman Father Josef Mohr, whom penned the poem “Silent Night” in 1818. She is also a direct descendent of Calvin Swain, one of the original settlers of the villages of Brooklyn and Napoleon. Carol had a strong faith in the Lord and was a Charter Member of Vandercook Baptist Church, where a celebration of her life will be held on Tuesday, January 22, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. According to her wishes cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Great Lakes Hospice or Vandercook Baptist Church.
