Catherine Mae Norman

Catherine Mae Norman passed away on March 26, 2026, in Jackson, Michigan, at the age of 90. She was born in Jackson, Michigan, on April 2, 1935, to parents Bany and Lena Powell. Catherine was cherished, devoted, hard-working, honest, kind-hearted, and thoughtful—qualities that shaped a life centered on family, faithfulness, and quiet strength.

When she was a young woman, Catherine met Robert Norman, Sr., and they were married on October 2, 1954. They shared 39 years of marriage together before his passing in 1993.

Catherine is survived by her son, Robert (Tommie) Norman, Jr.; grandchildren Robert (Kelly) Norman III, Cheri (Robert) Bailey, Paul (Shelly) Powell, Crystal (Fred) Dingee, Amanda (Jason) Adair, Samuel Norman, Daniel (Cayli) Norman, and Jerry Norman; her sister Bonnie Wolf; 20 great-grandchildren; and 16 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Robert, and two sons, Terry Powell and Fred Norman.

Catherine retired from Faith Haven Senior Center. She was devoted to her family and cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren. A recent highlight was the surprise celebration of her 90th birthday with her family last year. Her life was a beautiful example of love and devotion, and her legacy lives on in the hearts of her loved ones.

Visitation will be held at Burden-Patience-Montgomery Funeral Home, 1806 East Michigan Avenue, Jackson, MI 49202, on Thursday, April 2, 2026, from 9:00 am to 11:00 am. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park, 1425 N Elm Ave, Jackson, MI 49202, on Thursday, April 2, 2026, at 11:30 am, with Reverend Tommie Norman officiating.
