

Passed away on Friday, March 5, 2010, at the age of 75. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Patricia; five children, Sheryl Fulton of Homer, Kimberly (Ronald) Cockroft of Albion, Jeffery (Cheryl) Jones of Horton, Francis M. Prescott of Jackson and Gwendolyn of Mississippi; as well as numerous grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Charlie was the youngest of three boys born to Charles W. and Bertha (Baker) Prescott in Albion. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Kenneth and Raymond Prescott; also by a daughter, Wendy Prescott. He served in the United States Marine Corps. during the Korean conflict (1952-1955). He was employed with Clark Equipment until they relocated. He then went on to retire from General Motors, Saginaw Power Train Division, as a skilled tradesman. He was active in local union #623; a member of American Legion Post 324; Commander of the world famous American Legion Zouaves in the early 1970's; a member of Forty et Eight Voiture 746 Jackson County. He was Veteran of the Year in 2003 and was also a member of the Albion Moose and Eagles. Charlie was a proud Veteran and was always willing to serve his community. He loved his family and friends. He touched the hearts of many and will be greatly missed. Services honoring his life are scheduled at the funeral home on Wednesday, March 10, 2010, at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor John Sterner officiating. Family will receive friends for visitation on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. In according to his wishes cremation will follow and burial will take place in Ft. Custer at a later date. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make contributions to Allegiance Hospice or American Cancer Society.
