Of Michigan Center, passed away on Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at the age of 80 after a long and courageous battle with diabetes. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Angeline. He is survived by his brothers, Stanley Waselewski of Jackson and David (Wendy) Waselle of Franklin, TN; step-son, Louie Nowicki; nieces, Susan (Michael) Bolle and Carol (Stephen) Konkol; as well as many great nieces, nephews, loving family members, and friends. He was born in Michigan Center on April 1, 1934 to Stanley Sr. and Victoria (Olesky) Waselewski and spent many wonderful childhood years fishing and selling tackle with his brothers. After graduating from St. Mary’s Catholic High School he served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. After settling in Chicago, he married his sweetheart Angie and they resided there until her passing. He then returned to Jackson, where he had lived for the past few years enjoying his family and friends. Bob enjoyed golfing, weekday morning church services at Our Lady of Fatima, and monthly lunch dates with his very dear cousins.
I heard the voice of Jesus say, “Come unto me and rest;
Lay down thou weary one, lay down thy head upon my breast.”
I came to Jesus and I drank of that life giving stream;
My thirst was quenched, my soul revived, And now I live in him.
According to his wishes, cremation has taken place and a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of Fatima on Saturday, December 20, 2014 at 10:30AM with Fr. Timothy MacDonald officiating. The family will receive friends from 9:30 until the time of service.
